Jack Morford was born in Saginaw, Michigan. As children, he and his older sister drew from the Walter Foster “How to Draw” books for hours at a time. He attended Chicago Academy of Fine Arts after graduating from High School. In addition to his schooling in Chicago, Jack earned his Associate Degree from Ricks College in Idaho and has a BFA & MFA from Otis Art Institute of L.A. County. After teaching Art at Ricks College for 7 years, Jack owned an Art Gallery in California for 4 years.

“My most recently completed commission was for Brigham Young University’s new Library (three pieces). My figurative sculptures, beyond pure whimsy, become visual parodies of the human condition. Intellectuals find themselves tumbling forward like circus clowns on serious missions; socialites float on wheels over mundane sidewalks; actors pose as marionettes of themselves in plays that play on a subtle sense of sarcasm. In the end though, it is the whimsical that dominates creating from follies and foibles, delicate and likeable…figures we readily identify with because they remind us so much of the people we know. Like that strange person we see each morning camped out in that room behind the bathroom mirror.”
