Artist Bio

The innocence of childhood. Memories, hopes and celebrations. Expressions and gestures, preserved forever. The art of Dennis Smith, whether sculpture, painting, or assemblage, transcends time.

Dennis is as much a philosopher as he is an artist. His work is a window into who he is and his views on life. His impressionistic style captures his exuberance for life and embodies his passion for transcendence—expressed through reflections of the past and hopes for the future.

At the core of Dennis’ work is the spirit of the human soul. Bronze, metal, glass, oil paint, pen and ink. Dennis Smith is an artist who doesn’t limit himself to one medium. Born and raised in Alpine, Utah, Dennis continues to find inspiration for his work in this beautiful mountain setting. He graduated from Brigham Young University and attended the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen. Upon returning to Utah, he set up a studio in his father’s old chicken coop and embarked an a career that would include sculpture, painting, and writing—gaining international prominence along the way.
